How to make your own DIY Egg carton planter

Directions:

  1. Take an empty plastic bottle. I use an empty coke bottle. Start with cutting the bottle in half using a craft cutter. You can cut upper portion of bottle less than half depending on your desired size of final product.

2. Now take out empty egg cartons and cut one segment of carton using a craft cutter. Repeat this process                          with all the segments of egg carton. Now using scissors cut out all blocks of each segment in block shape as                    shown in pictures.

3. When all the blocks are out, take out paints. I use poster colors for painting. Now paint every block in your                     desired colored. I like peach pink combination for my DIY Egg Carton Planter. You can paint in your                                favorite color. After painting blocks let them dry.

4. Now start pasting blocks on plastic bottle with glue. Try to paste them one by one and cover the full                                 bottle with no space left on it. let it dry completely. Once all the blocks are pasted on bottle, your DIY                               Egg carton planter is ready to use.

5. Once dried you can place holder on your plant. You can put flowers of your choice in your planter. I                                 placed a money plant in my planter, and you can see in picture below it is looking awesome. You can                               also place paper flowers in it that requires no watering.

Note: This DIY Egg carton planter can be used for multiple purposes. You can use it as a pencil holder also and can place all your stationery in it. You can also use this holder as a toothbrush holder in your bathroom. Hence it can serve multiple purposes.

Gather your supplies.

To make your own egg carton wall hanging flower, you will need first to collect supplies. it’s a very low-cost project. Most of the products are already available at everyone’s home. If anything is missing, you can grab it easily from your nearest sore. The following supplies are needed for this craft.

  • Egg carton
  • Poster paints
  • Paint brush.
  • Scissors
  • Craft cutting knife or cutter.
  • Glue
  • Thread or twine for hanging on the wall.

Directions to make DIY Egg carton wall hanging flower:

The very first step after collecting all the supplies is to cut out the segments of egg cartons using your cutter. Now cut out individual cups from each segment of the egg carton using scissors. You will need to cut out 6 to 7 cups of egg carton for one flower, theses cups will serve as petals of flowers.

Next step is giving your fine shape using scissors. Each cup will look like a flower. Carefully trim the edges of the cup to make a flower shaped petal. You can see in video attached below how the final shape of every cup will look like.

Now grab your paintbrush and start painting each cup or petal you can say. You can choose the color of your choice, whatever color you want to paint. I wanted to give it a look like a sunflower, so I decided to go with yellow paint.

Now on this step you need to assemble flowers. Once painted all the petals, let them dry. When they are dried, now it’s time to organize it in flower shape.

Take your petals and arrange them in circular shape. Use glue to attach one petal with another. Using glue secures each petal in place, forming the shape of flower.

Now create the center of the flower. Cut out the circle from an extra egg carton cup. Paint it in a different color from the petals of the flower and let it dry. Once dried, using glue attach the circle in the center of the flower.

Now the last and final step is hang it up! As your flower is complete, it’s time to hang it up. Make a hole in one petal and then Take a piece of twine, pass it through the than through the center and in the last through another petal. Once the twine is passed through the flower tie its end.

And there you have it- your very own DIY Egg carton wall hanging Flower!  Get creative and experiment with different colors, sizes and shapes to make one pf a kind design, happy crafting!
