It’s so easy and simple that you don’t need to rush to the Mart to gather Materials. Most probably you can have all the materials needed available in your home. Here is a list of materials needed for making a DIY Paper Flower Mother’s Day Bouquet.

  • Colorful cardstock papers (I use green and pink color)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • compass

Choose the Flowers

There are countless types of flowers that can be made with paper. I have decided to make rose flowers my mother’s favorite. I’ll show you a detailed process of making an easy rose flower followed by pictures of every step that small kids can also make for their mothers.

Making a DIY Paper Flower

Steps to follow for making a DIY Paper Flower:
  • Draw a round circle (estimated 10cm) on paper using some circle object or compass.
  • Use a pencil to draw a circle so that it is easy to make changes when required. Cut that circle out of the construction paper with scissors.
  • For each rose you want to cut out a circle. I made 12 roses so I cut out 12 circles.
  • Now using a led pencil, draw a spiral that starts from the edge of the circle and ends in the center of the circle. Start the spiral narrow and make it wider slowly towards the center.
  • Draw the waves over a spiral.
  • Cut the spiral out of the circle using scissors. Following guidelines drawn on the circle to make the spiral neat you can erase the guidelines.
  • Roll the paper tightly in the spiral. Start with the narrow end and roll the paper tightly towards the center. Once it is rolled u will reach at the point where it will be difficult to roll it further. This is the bottom of a DIY rose flower. Just press the folding tightly so that it may not easily unravel.
  • When reached at the center let the rose rest on the flat center bottom of the rose. Slowly release the pressure that you were using to hold the flower and let the flower spread a little in your desired size.
  • Glue the base of the bottom of the rose. Once the rose is in your desired size put a dot of the craft glue on the surface of the flower and press the flower against it. Hold it and wait for one minute to let it dry and be pasted firmly so that your flower spiral doesn’t open. Once the glue is dry, your DIY paper flower is complete and ready to use.
  • Now you can use this DIY paper Flower for making DIY PAPER FLOWER BOUQUET .
  • Repeat this process for all your circles and make as many roses as you want.
  • After you are done with your Paper roses in your desired quantity the next step is making a bouquet.
  • To make a bouquet take a craft paper of your desired color. I chose green. Cut it in a rectangle shape in your desired size.
  • Fold the craft paper in cone shape and paste the edges with glue.
  • Fill the cone with extra paper and place the round cover over top of the cone.
  • Now start pasting DIY paper roses with glue over the flat surface of the bouquet. Once all the flowers are pasted let it rest for 5 minutes so that the glue is dried enough to hold the bouquet.
  • You can decorate your DIY paper flower Bouquet in different ways you like. I made a paper bow and pasted it in front of the bouquet.
  • You can also add a personal touch to your bouquet by writing a heartfelt message on your Bouquet for your mother.

viola! Your DIY Paper Flower Mother’s Day Bouquet is now ready to be gifted to your mother on Mother’s Day. This bouquet will not only brighten up her day, but it will also be a beautiful keepsake she can cherish. You can also add some spray to your flowers to make your present smell good also. Your mother can keep it with her for a long period of time as a memory.

In conclusion, involving my daughter in making a craft for Mother’s Day turned out to be a heartwarming and memorable experience for both of us. I highly recommend involving your children in such projects for pure joy and love that comes with crafting something special for the most special women in our lives – our mothers.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers there.
