Kids have been always fond of pasting or drawing their favourite cartoon character in their room. Currently, kids are fond of watching Despicable Me and the Minions, in which the character of Minion has been their top favourite ones. So right here we are discussing a step by step guide to make you learn about how you can design and draw your own favourite Minion character right now:

Step 1:

  1. Scissors, a paper trimmer or a paper cutter
  2. Paper
  3. White Glue
  4. Printed mouth
  5. Printed eye
  6. Printed Minion logo

Step 2:

In this step, you will first of all be cutting down the pages of different colours and in different length formations.  You have to cut down 27 white pieces in 2.5 cm by 5cm. You have to cut down 344 yellow pieces in 6 cm by 9 cm. You have to cut down 72 black pieces in 6 cm by 9 cm. You have to cut down 246 blue pieces in 6 cm by 9 cm. Step 3:

Take one of the squares and keep with the longer side on the bottom. Fold in 1/2 from the bottom to the top. Fold once more from right to left however, don’t press the fold very hard. Unfold the last fold and rotate the paper. Fold the proper aspect of the paper to the bottom line in the middle then do the same to the left side. Step 4:

Fold the top 2 flaps down. You will stop up with a triangle. Fold in half and you are done. To bring together them you will put the leg of one into the pocket of another, however, you have to make sure to maintain them alternating like bricks so that each new piece you put on is resting on two distinctive pieces. Step 5:

Continue adding pieces on top than on the bottom until you have used all 48 pieces in 24 on the top row and 24 on the bottom row. Here we have the image for you to get a complete idea.  Now that you have this line you must connect the two ends together so that you now have a ring.

Step 6:

Now, this step is where matters begin getting really fun. Here we have the image for you to get a complete idea.  Add three more layers on top of the first 2 layers that shaped the base. Every row will need to have 24 pieces.

Step 7:

In this step, you have to insert all the folded blue pieces of paper together into one another and somehow this will completely look different and unique looking. This will be giving you an idea of how the Minion body will turn out to be.

Step 8:

Reaching to the next 8th step you need to be a lot careful and attentive. You should be reuniting all the folding corners of the paper on top of one another. Step 9:

In the 10th step of the tutorial, you have to continue upon until and unless you have reached at the 7 rows that are made from the mixture of blue and yellow pieces. This will look so artistic. Check out the image below to get an idea!

Now on the 13th row, you should be set upon 24 different blue pieces all at one time. Here we have the image for you to get a complete idea.  You have to reunite them on top of one another one by one.

Step 12:

Now in this step, it’s time to take into account the 7 different yellow rows. Be careful. You should not be exceeding more than 7 different rows which is so much important.

On the sixth row, you need to put the portions in this order: 5 yellow pieces, 7 blue pieces, 5 yellow pieces, 7 blue pieces. On the seventh row, you want to put the portions in this order: 6 yellow pieces, 6 blue pieces, 6 yellow pieces, 6 blue pieces. Continue like this until you have 7 rows that are made with yellow and blue pieces.

Step 14:

Put 24 blue pieces on the thirteenth row. Here we have the image for you to get a complete idea.  Add 7 yellow layers. Add 2 black layers. Add 3 yellow layers.

Step 15:

Glue the eye, the mouth and the logo on. You can make them or print them; then cut them out and glue them on top of your origami pieces.

Step 16:

Make the arms and legs. For one hand you will need 5 black pieces and 12 yellow pieces. Use the same interlocking 3D method that you did above. Here we have the image for you to get a complete idea.  For one leg you will want 7 black portions and 5 blue pieces.

Step 17:

Stick the legs and the hands onto the main torso. This is what we are sharing right in this image for you!

Step 18:

After you completed to make the pieces, begin assembling the base. For this, you will want 48 pieces. You will note that every piece will have two legs and two pockets. Here we have the image for you to get a complete idea.  To gather them you will put the leg of one into the pocket of another, but you must make certain to hold them alternating like bricks so that each new piece you put on is resting on two distinct pieces. So to put it every other way, take hold of one piece and take the right leg and insert it into the left pocket of some other piece.

Now that you have this line you have to connect the two ends together so that you now have a ring. And now the base it’s finished! Now, this step is where things start getting without a doubt fun.
